Appointment with God

Fran

At the New Wine conference this summer I found a lump in my breast. My husband had been to a seminar on healing by David Pytches, and tried out what he had learned by praying for my healing. The lump stayed. We were camping in the Somerset countryside and I decided I should wait til the week was over to see my doctor in London. By the Friday evening, though, I was in despair, praying over and over again. After the Saturday morning celebration I went to the prayer ministry area and asked if there was anyone who could pray with me, without saying what it was for. Initially I was told that all the slots had been booked up and that there was no-one available to pray.

Then a woman in navy, whose name I never found out, swooped down on me. She said that I had an appointment with God - if I waited, there was someone coming over in the next few minutes who could pray with me. She also said that this person was a GP.

‘That’s great,’ I said, ‘because the issue I need prayer for is a medical one.’

Within moments a woman arrived and sat with me. I explained my anxieties about the breast lump. At this point she disclosed that she wasn't actually a GP - but a doctor in a breast clinic! Not only that, but she was able to explain why I should not be concerned about the lump I was describing to her.

God had given me the right person at the right time. We prayed together. I got an appointment with my GP when we got home, had a biopsy, and the lump is completely benign - exactly as I had been told.
