Recession - and revival
Posted November 22nd, 2008 by annecThere’s so much talk of recession in the press. It's all gloom and doom. Something my husband said last Sunday stuck with me though. He stated, ‘God is not in recession!’
In fact as I reflect on it, I would say that God is positively on the move and the church is moving into revival! What brings me to say that? I have seen so many signs of the supernatural recently, that I can hardly keep myself from jumping up and down in excitement!

Beware the dogs of doom!
Posted November 14th, 2008 by GeorgieFirst - don't miss the new story about healing from a painful past - it was shared with us at last Saturday's 'Clothed with Joy' day for women.
At the women’s day I was praying for someone and I found myself praying things that I had not been told about, with an authority not my own.

A bit close for comfort
Posted November 11th, 2008 by clareI am still trying to digest last weekend's events. On Saturday St Barnabas hosted a day for women called 'Clothed with Joy' (see Psalm 30:11) followed by three services on Sunday at which Chad Dedmon spoke and prayed for healing. Many people came away healed, inwardly or outwardly, and many more were left with a lot to think about, myself included.
God emailed me
Posted November 7th, 2008 by clareI emailed God last week…
I didn’t exactly mean to. I’d been rushed off my feet for a few days and couldn’t seem to find time to pray. There was this undercurrent of frustration in the back of my mind - a theme of feeling purposeless to God, just wasting my time on normal life stuff.
Rags or riches
Posted November 1st, 2008 by GeorgieThe other Sunday I found myself answering some questions in response to Anne’s talk at The Five (the five o’clock service here at St Barnabas). They were quite thought provoking and reminded my husband of a story he had heard.

Beyond barriers
Posted October 24th, 2008 by annecThis morning we had our usual Thursday women’s meeting and at the end I found myself in a group of five praying for each other as we usually do. The only thing that was a bit different was that one woman prayed in French and one in Gujurati (the rest in English!) and yet we all felt at one with each other. The language didn’t seem to be a problem at all; the presence of Jesus transcends the language barrier!
It reminded me of two things:

Look at the bigger picture
Posted October 16th, 2008 by NicoleBI’ve noticed something over the years. I’ve noticed that things knowingly done wrong and not dealt with quickly have a habit of coming to the surface at some point. It’s as if someone pulls them out in to wide public display in the end. I’ve also noticed that these things, when discovered, often grow to leave consequences far deeper and more disruptive than the initial ‘minor’ sin.

Faith
Posted October 11th, 2008 by clareApologies for the long silence on this site. We are back with renewed enthusiasm, all ready to tell you what we're discovering about God's infinitesimal kindness in our everyday lives, and determined to be more consistent about blogging!
I was chatting to a new friend this week, and she told me that although she goes to church she could never understand how people could be so certain of their faith. I think it possibly seemed arrogant to her to make claims about one religion over another. I could see how much sense her point of view made.
